101: Aluminum Recycling
Aluminum is one of the most recyclable metals on the planet. It is created by mining the mineral Bauxite. The Alum is separated out and formed into ingots that can be sent all over the world to create a variety of products.
Creating Aluminum from scratch can be an expensive process though and it’s often cheaper to just recycle it.
In fact recycling your old can into a new one takes about 5% of the energy needed to make the can from scratch. Because of this more than 50% of all the aluminum produced, is made by recycling old aluminum into new products.
This is where you come in. That soda you’re drinking now, or that old siding you just replaced, is made of Aluminum and can be worth big bucks. At Valley Recycling we pay you (handsomly) for your old Aluminum.
Then we take it, process it and get it melted back down into ingots so it can start it’ s life all over again. At the end of the day you have some extra cash in your pocket and you’ve helped the environment by not wasting energy. Everybody wins!
